Note the change of location for our April 9th meeting! It’s movie night, so as we have in the past, we’ll meet at Windsor Oak Grove Village Clubhouse across from Pine Banks Park. Please arrive promptly at 6:45PM to grab snacks and a seat. The business meeting will begin at 7PM to accommodate the length of the movie.
We’ll be screening “The Help,” starring Emma Stone, Viola Davis and Octavia Spencer (who won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for this role). The film was written and directed by Tate Taylor, who adapted it from Kathryn Stockett’s 2009 novel of the same name. From Netflix: In 1960s Jackson, Miss., aspiring writer Eugenia [“Skeeter”] Phelan crosses taboo racial lines by conversing with Aibileen Clark about her life as a housekeeper, and their ensuing friendship upsets the fragile dynamic between the haves and the have-nots.
Windsor Oak Grove Village Clubhouse is on Main Street in Melrose, across the street from Pine Banks Park. Parking is allowed on Main Street, within the complex (as long as it’s not marked for retail only), and in the “guest” slots in front of the Clubhouse; there is also a parking lot at Hunt’s.
See you Wednesday, April 9th, 2014 at 6:45PM at Windsor Oak Grove Village!
